Like we said in the previous entry, you can't go more than a few minutes without breathing. So, just think about the power of that statement. Do you realize how important oxygen is? Every cell in your body needs oxygen to heal. Recent medical research has found that cancer cells cannot survive when oxygen is present. Furthermore, when healthy cells don't receive enough oxygen, cancer cells thrive, and tumors become less responsive to treatment!
When there's not enough oxygen in your bloodstream the red blood cells become sticky and clump together, but when there's plenty of oxygen they are healthy, plump and flow easily through the arteries. Can you imagine how happy your body would feel as a whole when you're able to take deep breaths?
Remember the Mitochondria? (The powerhouse of the cell). It is the part of the cells in your body primarily responsible for the production of ATP, the cell's usable energy. How does it produce this ATP? By the nutrients the cell receives AND the Oxygen it receives. So, you see it is important to make sure when we breathe, we do it effectively, and that we bring quality air into our lungs.
And have you realized just how much we take breathing for granted? Most of us take shallow breaths, barely moving our chest or abdomen. If we asked you to take a 4 second inhale and a 4 second exhale would you be able to do it? If not, think about the ramifications that can have on your body, not being able to bring in as much oxygen as possible, but maybe only 50% or less!
So, why are we telling you this? Because we are adding Breathwork to our Saturday classes! These Breathwork classes are designed to help you in many ways:
We are having two Breathwork classes, and they alternate with Sound Baths on Saturday nights.
These classes are:
Breath Empowerment: One of the most powerful healing experiences you could ever have. It involves breathing deeply and powerfully for about 40 minutes, using a specific Breathwork technique. At the end you will rest in a deep state of relaxation, while you allow the energy generated to flow throughout every cell in your body. You may even feel a deep sense of connection with the all.
Nine Breath Method: This is a Breathwork technique that you will learn to be able to take it with you and practice it on a regular basis. It is an ideal Breathwork method to achieve relaxation in nine breaths, so it can be used during moments of high stress, or right before your meditation practice.
These classes, like we mentioned before, will alternate with our Sound Bath Classes. So the rotation is like this: Sound Bath - Breath Empowerment - Sound Bath - Nine Breath Method - Sound Bath, etc... So each Saturday night we will host a different class.
