Popular belief would have us think that Karma is the negative consequence in return for our bad deeds. So those people live their lives in fear of what their Karma would be, so they try to "be good" to not have Karma. But that's not necessarily accurate, or complete.
In short, Karma is the Hindi name for the law of cause and effect. So for every action there is a reaction. This reaction comes back to the author of the action. And the other concept we need to consider to complete the thought is Dharma. Dharma is the moral duty or spiritual law by which one abides in order to be in service to others, a life purpose or higher calling.
So when we do something significant, good or bad, it will generate Karma in our lives, an energy that will cause that event to come back like a boomerang. For example if a person steals from another, that person is creating a Karma that at some point someone else will steal from them. If that same person instead had donated money to the needy, at some point that money will also come back to them. One key thing about Karma, when it comes back, it's usually in a larger scale. It's the law of reciprocity, "give and ye shall receive", reap what you sow, etc.
In some cases it can also be seen as a debt that must be repaid, in this life or the next... and/or by our descendants. That means that Karma can be carried on within a family tree, generation after generation. And as we mentioned before, it can go for up to 7 generations. Until somebody chooses to end that cycle, to clear their Karma, to repay that debt.
Dharma, on the other hand, is a belief in being guided by a moral compass. Therefore, it's not guided by fear, but by principles. This is a very important distinction which can determine the direction our lives would take. For example, a person guided by fear would say: "I pay my rent on time so that I won't pay the price of being evicted", this would generate a life filled with anxiety, paranoia, frustration, etc. While a person guided by principles would say: "I pay my rent on time because I am a man of my word", this would generate a life or empowerment, confidence, clarity of purpose, etc.
So, the relationship between Karma and Dharma is that your Dharma, or Life's Purpose, may or may not be what is guiding your life at this moment. What could be keeping you from being on the path you were meant to be, is the negative Karma you are carrying. If there's something you did, or an ancestor did, in the past, then your life is being pulled towards clearing that Karma. For as long as this is the case, your life cannot go in the direction of your life's purpose.
Let's say for example that a man cheated on his wife, and their marriage ends. Now he is carrying this Karma. It's possible that as he goes into another relationship, his new partner could potentially cheat on him. Also, his children could end up in relationships where there's infidelity, and their relationships end, and their suffering breaks the man's heart. This would continue to happen to him and his descendants until he chooses to break the cycle and learns his lesson.
Now, let's go back and assume that his wife did not leave, they stayed together, but she's mad at him for what he did. Then sometime later she cheats on him on purpose, because of what he did in the past. This anger and desire to "punish" him with this action, is actually taking the Karma from him and passing it onto her. Now it's her debt to pay. Like a mortgage being sold to another lender.
See, Karma is a Universal law, like gravity, and it will happen. So taking it upon ourselves to punish the offender, is interfering with the natural flow of the Universe (yes, that includes asking somebody else to do it). Instead we get to trust, and let Karma do its job. Revenge is not the way to go. Like Gandhi said "An eye for an eye will make the whole World blind". And Jeshua (Jesus) also instructed his disciples not to retaliate, but to "turn the other cheek".
This is part of the reason why you may hear us say that giving and receiving happen at the same time. If you give goodness, you're immediately granted with good Karma "credit". If you give evil, you are instantly assigned a "bill" for that Karma. And the Universe will "collect" when its appropriate, it may be instantly, or eventually. But you will receive in kind for your deeds. And yes, if the lesson is not learned, the "bill" keeps increasing in "interests", meaning the experiences become more painful with time.
So, now the most important question to all this is, how do you clear your Karma? That's where we come in. Our Shamanic Energy Medicine services clear out the negative imprints in your LEF, including your Karma and that of your ancestors. Once we have cleared enough of it, you can then have a Soul Retrieval session to connect with your Soul's Purpose. Then, we'll continue with more advanced techniques, until you can have a Destiny Retrieval. At that point you'll be connected to your highest destiny, and you'll live your life guided by your Dharma.
